Jackie Kennedy Thanks Volunteers

Jan. 10, 1964 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy paid her first visit to her office in the Old State Department Building next to the White House today. Congress appropriated $50,000 for the offices, which will handle her mail and business left over from her White House days. Mrs. Kennedy arrived with a Secret Service agent, Clint Hill. She managed a smile as she entered the room where her staff had lined up to greet her. She thanked the approximately 25 volunteers who have been opening the letters. Every piece of mail will be answered. Prayer cards for President Kennedy are being sent out. Mrs. Kennedy is having some rooms painted in the $190,000 Georgetown home she purchased. She moves in later this month.
