Aug. 2, 1961 - Jack Lescoulie, who was associated with Dave Garroway for nine and a half years on the "Today" show, has found a new job on a children's TV program. Mr. Lescoulie will function as "kind of a Dutch Uncle" to a 10-year-old boy on "1, 2, 3 - Go," which makes its debut Oct. 8 on NBC. Mr. Lescoulie will be companion to young Richard Thomas (pictured), a stage and television actor. Richard and Mr. Lescoulie will explore many "real places around the world, from the bottom of the ocean to outer space," NBC said. Already they are planning a trip to see the astronauts at Cape Canaveral, Fla.
