Drama Series on FBI Planned by ABC

Jan. 12, 1965 - A drama series based on the investigation of crime and subversion by the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be televised by ABC on Sundays from 8 to 9 p.m., beginning Sept. 19.

Thomas Moore, president of the network, announced today that the series, which will star Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (pictured), would be produced by Warner Brothers Pictures in association with Quinn Martin Productions, which created “The Fugitive.” Moore said the FBI would cooperate in the project.

The FBI series will take the time period now filled by the second half of “Wagon Train” and “Broadside,” a half-hour comedy. Neither show is expected to continue next season.
