Feb. 4, 1963 - The Dodger disaster in the 1962 pennant race was a bitter pill that still galls the ballclub, and Los Angeles will go all out to make amends this year. This promise was made today by President Walter O’Malley when the Dodgers organization was feted by its broadcasting sponsor, Union Oil Co., at a luncheon at the Ambassador Hotel. “What happened last fall has not been forgotten by anybody in our organization,” declared O’Malley. “If you want to see a team really sweat it out, come to Vero Beach this spring, and watch us get ready.”
