Jan. 9, 1962 - A series of 13 shows about the Civil War will be presented Sundays at 4:30 p.m. over WABC-TV starting Jan. 21. The half-hour series, “The American Civil War,” was produced by the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company. The show consists of still shots taken from the voluminous collection of photographs made by Matthew B. Brady, the famed Civil War photographer. A technique is used that gives the illusion of motion to the pictures and synchronizes them with a musical and narrative accompaniment. The series was produced, directed, and written by William Kaland and Roy Meredith.
