Bing Crosby Signed for “Stagecoach” Remake

Feb. 7, 1965 - Bing Crosby has been signed to play the dramatic role of Doc Boone in the remake of the Western classic “Stagecoach.” 

The film will be produced by Martin Rackin for 20th Century-Fox. Ann-Margret also will star in the $5 million widescreen film which will go into production in June under the direction of Gordon Douglas. John Ford directed the original “Stagecoach” in 1939.

The screenplay is being prepared by Joseph Landon. “Stagecoach” will be produced in color, according to Mr. Rackin, who until last September was executive in charge of studio production at Paramount Pictures.
