July 13, 1962 - Actor Billy Gray (pictured right with Robert Young), who portrayed “Bud” in the “Father Knows Best” television series, was sentenced today in Santa Monica, Calif., for possession of marijuana. Superior Judge Edward R. Brand placed Gray on 3 years probation on condition he serve the first 60 days in a road camp and thereafter submit to such psychiatric treatment as the Probation Department might order. The actor was arrested March 25 in West Hollywood when traffic officers found debris of marijuana cigarettes in his car. In his probation report, he said he was introduced to marijuana at the age of 16 and used it intermittently in later years, but has now stopped.
