Jan. 21, 1965 - Anthony Quinn (pictured with his wife and daughter Valentina in 1961) was granted a divorce today in Mexico from his wife of 27 years, the choreographer Katherine DeMille.
The grounds given for the divorce in the First Juarez Civil Court were “incompatibility.”
Miss DeMille is the daughter of the late Cecil B. DeMille, the film producer and director. The Quinns have four children.
Mr. Quinn declined to answer reporters’ questions as to whether he would marry Yelanda Adolori, a 29-year-old Italian woman who claims noble Venetian ancestry and is the mother of two sons by him.
Mr. Quinn, who is 53 years old, won an Academy Award in 1956 for his supporting role of the painter Paul Gauguin in the movie “Lust for Life,” the biography of Vincent van Gogh starring Kirk Douglas.
